The Evzones (ef = + bands are good and wearing) are elite soldiers of the Greek army, better known as evzones after the anagram made of stoliades name of the outfit which was formalized by King Otto of Greece brought himself in official appearances.
Through the historic action of Evzones battalions, the evzones have become a symbol of bravery for the Greek people. Nowadays "evzones" named the soldiers of the Presidential Guard, who perform missions symbolic, with central storage of the Monument of the Unknown Soldier.
